I know how you feel

As someone who gave up an '81 and now owns a C-5, it's a bittersweet upgrade. I owned mine for eight years and people always told me what a great car it was. Then one day, while I had it in the shop for a minor electrical problem, someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I paid 12 grand for the car, kept it for eight years and sold it for 12 grand on a moment's notice. I've got a sweet C-5 now, but I miss that '81 all the time. It's still my favorite Corvette design of all time. But maybe someday...

Yes, I do miss the 81,but i know that it is a good home, with good new owners. BUT I do love my c5,and do not regret the decision.
It is in winter storage for now,but Spring will be here before you know it.

Also, welcome to the forum, many great knowledgeable and friendly members here, and also congrats on your 04. Hope to see you at Corvettes at Carlisle in August. I will be there with the c5,as do a good many members of the CAC.

I do love corvettes of all years, and if i was independantly wealthy would have 1 from each generation.

Happy Holidays, Ken :beer

No regrets

I agree with you about the C-5 being a great car. My wife loved the '81 but thinks the ride quality - along with just about everything else - is far superior in the '04. It makes a difference when you're out for more than just a spin around town. My '81 went to a collector and I'm pretty sure it's in good hands, too. I followed him back to his house from the shop so I could take the plates and he put it right in a barn with several other Corvettes, plus 4 or 5 SS 396 Chevelles. Nice to have disposable income! Thanks for the welcome. This site was a great find for me. Lots of interesting people and ideas here. It's a great resource for all things Corvette.

I will enjoy the Holidays, hope you do the same. The Rochester Corvette Club just held our Christmas party last night and it's terrific to know that, even though our cars are all put away for the winter, there are so many good people in this hobby who enjoy getting together to share stories and good times together. It feels like we're all connected because of these cars. Here's to an early Spring!

Kevin,

Again, welcome to the forum, and as I mentioned earlier if you have not yet been to Corvettes at Carlisle, in August,by all means DO try to make it down there this year. You will love it, and be hooked.

Will look for you down there, enjoy the 04.

Ken
