Fast & Furious 2 - here's the deal about the C5/Saleen crash w/in>

If you have not seen the trailer for the movie - you can go to the promo site and view it but - here's the deal...
In the movie FF2, a Saleen Mustang and C5 race - cars collide and Saleen get's run over by an 18 wheeler

It is really Hollywood trickery as the cars are gutted "mules"

I saw the Saleen from the film which was bought at auction for 27k (for a 50k Saleen w/ only 400 miles on it )

The Vette was a similar deal and sold for something like 14k and was a 98 or 99 (99 I think - painted the current gray)

Anyways - go see the movie and look closely at the cars - both "lived on" as it was the "stunt doubles" that got creamed

I don't know how many Vettes were used (at least 2 were ) but there were 5 saleens used in filming. 3 manuals and 2 automatics. 3 cars had saleen "#'s" and 2 did not - but were indeed real cars from saleen
3 cars were mashed in filming 2 survived , or at least were nice enough to sell...

Confirmed last night, crashed cars were gutted - Corvette included - "Spiral gray" paint was used for a "curent look" - car was a 99 'vert

And im suprised the Saleen didnt have the Series II blower from Saleen...i guess they wised up, and heard some of the problems they were having, and got a centrefugal lol. Too bad they destroy the vette, yet keep the ricers in tact so sad...

Not sure what you mean about problems w/ the blowers???

The White speedster beside the F&F II car belongs to my brother and has the S281sc engine w/ roots blower from them as does the white one next to it. To my knowledge, they have ot had problems and my brother drives his most days of the week.

The F&F II car had the Vortech added after the sale, makes a lot of power for sure - owner said since he has an s281sc car already, he wanted a different type for grins.

the smash the corvette because the movie is made all about imports despite how bad they sound and how slow they are.

and if you watch the full trailer the corvette driver would have had more than enough time to swirve out of the way of the rustang

I went through the "Line Up". I can't believe they listed the 911 as a 2 Liter engine with 210HP. The base Boxster puts out more HP than that.
