Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any feedback for the Fast EZ 2.0 EFI. I'm thinking of fitting it to my 1981 that I'm building but the only reviews that are online aren't very good. Is it that only people that are not happy are the ones who do the reviews?
Is there anyone here that has fitted the system and how do you like it? Is it worth the money or am I better off getting a good carb?
Thanks,
Scott

FAST's systems are pretty good. There is a LOT to choose from and they range in price, complexity, and potential.

I've had stand-along TBI systems similar to FASTs (although that was a long time ago and it was a Holley system), GM factory style swaps, and then now significantly modified GM based PCM systems. I've always liked EFI over a carb.

Just my opinion... but getting to which system you'll be happy with comes down to three questions: what is the goal, what is the budget, and what am I willing to work on / do. The simpler the response- the more a stand alone like Atomic, Pro-Jection, Edelbrock, or FAST makes sense.

If you want easy to install... go with a TBI system. Get one that uses an 02 sensor- it's hard to get the gas mileage without a feedback loop.

If you need something radical because you have a big cam or something really different- you'll need something with more tuning parameters and likely more specific things to install/program/modify/etc.

I think the best news is the aftermarket has more stuff to meet your needs now than ever before. If you can dream it up- you can either find a product mass produced or someone to build it for you.

I run the EZ EFI 2.0,,,.... and no, it was anything but easy... That being said, now that i got it working and all the bugs out, I would never go back to a carb....

But why are you asking for a 2.0? The 2.0 is good to 1200hp i believe, and the 1.0 is good to about 550hp.... I run the 2.0, but i run a 650hp SB 427 and road race it....

I'm looking at the 2.0 because it works out around the same price as the Edelbrock and Holley system. You also get the additional features like the ability to change fuel type.
I'm not running a stock L81, I have a ZZ4 with aftermarket heads, big cam and should be around 500hp according to my engine builder.

500hp is a long shot from 650.... and to say it and do it are 2 different things... what heads are you running? what are your cam specs?

A ZZ4 is a 355hp motor.... and the EZ EFI 1.0 will do 550-600hp... i want and looked it up:-) the 2.0 has 8 injectors while the 1.0 has 4.

we are running a 1.0 on an AMC 360 jeep.... just does not need the 2.0, and that 360 puts out around 450hp+ its a full roller AMC...

remember... you have to buy the fuel pump also... if you want the 2.0 I don't think it will hurt,,,, other than you pocket book... but you will not see any HP benefits.

instant throttal response! ... when it running right ... it's the the BOMB!!! but it took me 4 months to get it running right.... had a bad ECU, and a bad crank trigger... and this system is very susceptible EMI.... VERY.... the rout of the wires alone can cause great grief... and the self setup period is hell...runs like chit while it is setting its A/F....

The ZZ4 350 crate engine is Chevrolet Performance’s original affordable crate engine. In Turn-Key form, it comes with everything you need to get it running in your project vehicle.
High-flow aluminum heads are the keys to the ZZ4’s robust 355 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. They boast 163-cc intake runners, raised exhaust ports, and tight, 58-cc combustion chambers that enhance compression and power. The heads feature 1.94/1.50-inch valves for efficient performance.

The rest of the ZZ4 350 is comprised of premium materials including a brand-new four-bolt block, forged steel crankshaft, high-silicon pistons, and a hydraulic roller camshaft. It also includes an aluminum intake, Holley four-barrel carburetor, and HEI distributor, as well as a starter, water pump, fuel pump, and front-end accessory drive kit — including an air conditioning compressor, alternator, and more!
If you want to finish off the engine yourself, try the ZZ4 350 Base engine (P/N 24502609) at a lower price. It includes only the intake manifold, distributor, water pump, damper, and flexplate.

Thanks for your input but I did ask about the EFI system not what I am fitting it to. The FAST website does not say it will not work under 650hp it actually states "Carb replacement system supports stock to 1200hp"

Ok... well, good luck with your choice...

I picked up that you said it has the ability to run different fuels. If you are planning on using E85 make sure the rest of your fuel system is also compatible. Tank, pump, fuel lines hoses ect.
