Does anyone have any recommendations or tips for repairing fiberglass? I will be making a repair over the front wheel well ( where these are commonly cracked) of my 61 Vette. I have done this successfully before but it always seems that someone out there has a better mouse trap. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you repairing both sides,, one side won't last.
When an excess of resin is used strength is lost.
Planning on getting my 61 on the road by Aug 1st ????????

This is how I usually tackle this

1.From the back side .clean the area up with a sander or grinder. Then do a basic repair using resin and mat.
2.from the front side, with a grinder "v" the crack out and fill it with resin and mat but trying to keep it in the crack. The next day lightly go over the area with a grinder and grind the paint away from the crack about an inch on both sides of the crack. Then use body filler to finish off the repair .

I will be repairing both sides and I will follow the recommendations of paintdaddy as I trust his advice. Is your 61 nearing a resto completion or is it in storage? Best of luck with it.

Thanks paintdaddy. I will follow your procedure.
