Alright I really am in a fight with myself over what mods I should do. In the begning I was going to do headers and a cat back for about a $1000(TPiS long tube headers and magna flow cat back) but now I'm thinking of saving my money and buying a procharger which cost $4500 or attempt to find a used one. So give me your input on what you would do or have done.

Thanks in advance.

I think heads, cam, headers and a good catback are "mandatory mods." There is no easy or cheap way out! :L

personally i don't think gears are the biggest bang for the buck especially if it's an A4 car. it will only break so why spend the money on gears if it's going to break once you get in the 400 rwtq area?

if your going with FI do a long block build up. you can do this for around 3k with forged internals. this way when you do do the supercharger you can boost the hell out of it. i'd hate to see anyone throw money on something and just too see it break something else later on. cam heads and intake along with the long block (which includes heads and cam) and you can easily see as much HP as a blower would put to your stock application. only makes sense to me to build the block with forged internals first. keep the compression in the 9:1 ratio and you can easily put 8 lbs of boost on it with no problems.

for 4500 bucks you can build a banging long block and put more HP to the ground than a simple blower setup on a stock motor. once you add more HP and torque you have to worry about the tranny if it's an auto and especially the rear being a Dana 36. IMO think this out heavily before you start adding alot of HP and torque.

good luck!

Thanks for the info guys. It is an auto but I have the Dana 44 rear so it should be good.

I wouldnt get a used charger. I would get a new one instead.
