Today I finally got the trans and engine mounted in the chassis for my 59 project, and I figured that I would share some pics of it. I spent one whole weekend polishing out the oil pan and waterpump, and you can hardly see either one when the engine is nestled down in the frame! I hope to have the headers and aluminum driveshaft in by next weekend. I broke down and bought a pay plan for Village photos, and can now post some pics that aren't are garbled up by the shrinking process that was used for the free plan!

Looking good~ as much as I could see. The website would only let me see the thumbnails. When I clicked for larger pics, I got red X every time. :(

Works for me, John. And "your" work is amazing. That car is going to be beautiful.

Throw some seats and a steering wheel in it now and go for a cruise. :beer

Hvn',
I can't tell you how fired up I am getting to get this puppy on the road, but I am sure you don't know anything about that!

Looks fantastic! What kind of exhaust is planned? What method did you use to strip the body? Be ready this summer?

Studiodog,
I am using a set of S&P headers coated with their CROMEX ceramic coating, with Stainless works polished mufflers and full polished 304 Stainless pipes. I was going to try and come out the bumpers like original, but now see that this would be a real problem. I am probably going to exit out either side of the spare tire well through some notches in the rear panel. The body was chemically stripped, but that was done years agom by a previous owner and the body need a lot of attention.

John,

That car is fantastic! It will be spectacular when completed. Keep those pics coming, I love to watch the progress. My first 4 vettes were solid axle cars and I have a soft spot for those body styles....especially with the newer technology. I think that the tube frame is the coolest part.....makes me want to build something ;-)
