Question: Is that recall about Lower control arm ball stud washer, as serious a problem as the recall article makes it sound?

You should definitely look into that and see if your car is affected. That issue (if it is the one I'm remembering) doesn't sound like one to ignore.

Welcome to the :CAC ocguy. Thanks for sharing pictures of your new vert.:upthumbs Enjoy the Vette and the forums. :beer

Welcome to the CAC. :v You should be able to call GM customer care and they would see it on their records from the VIN. In most states the only catch that would stick the dealer is if by not performing the repair they sold a vehicle that was not road legal. Even then they might be able to squeak through this detail if the sticker says sold as is or no implied warranty.

Good decision: long range it's always better to have the last of a generation instead of the first year or two of a new model. It sure took GM a long time to get the bugs out of the the C4...and actually they never really got 'um all. It will be interesting to see the expensive failures in the early C6s a few years down the road.

Congrats and welcome!:beer Gotta love a vert. Come on Spring!:lou

It all began 22 yrs ago, when I was 9 yrs old. This was when the passion began to fuel within me, for America's finest sports car. I proudly am the owner of an '04 Convertible C5, the last of this generation. This forum is filled with some true enthusiasts, whom many are very knowledgeable about what these cars are all about. I don't post a lot, but I look forward to meeting and interacting with many of you who are like-minded in our shared passion for America's legendary sports car, the CORVETTE. Please take notice to the photos of my family's newest member!

Way to go Steve...I think the only difference in yours and mine is the color......:) :beer

Very nice...

Welcome and I agree I also like this community. Have only been an owner for 2 years now after following up on my corvette passion.

Hi ocguy -

Sorry to revive the thread, but are you sleeping with your head leaned on the steering wheel of your vert?

You guys/gals are great! I really appreciate all the "welcomes" and helpful advice. I've done a couple mods, stainless exhaust plate, and lowered the F55 on stock bolts (front was already done from factory.) Oh, and bought those fancy headlamp bulbs. I got a pic yesterday that seems serene to me, and thought I'd share. Everyone, take care, and I'm so glad to be a part of what America is...AMERICA'S SPORTS CAR, CORVETTE!!! PS... even my Pom (yes, he's mine!), thinks she's beautiful!
