I recall one or two threads about this that never really reached a conclusion. Is there a "scientific" method to figuring out what the best base timing is for your car? Or do you advance, drive, advance, drive, until you either get detonation or no throttle response?
Thanks.

what i did was advanced drive advanced drive but if you can get your hands on a snapon 3000 scanner that can monitor the knock sensor it makes it alot easier to set it where it needs to be.

if the car is bucking in 4th gear at 40 mph with slight pressure on the gas pedal then you have too much timing.

I have too much timing. It bucks with slight pressure around 40 in 4th... forget using overdrive.
