Since the 63 is coming home next week (4 days and counting), I finished work on the trailer for now...thought I would share my photos of what I did...

Inside the trailer. Put down vinyl black and white checkerboards, primed and painted the walls, and starting to put up "History of the Corvette" wall boarder..
Notice the non-skid on the loading ramp...

Next photo shows inside...waiting for more boarder to finish both sides, carpeted the wheel wells...and will put bumper pad for door on the wall.

Final photo, installed the winch..powered by truck battery...put some diamond plate on the floor both on top and bottom for support...

Think it will be a fitting transport for my 63......

your trailer for your '63 is nicer than my home garage for my '65!!

beautiful job Collin. use it well and safely :beer

First class job Collin, but what else would you expect for that SWC beauty!

congratulations on a great trailer.....heck...do you rent it out for a home when it isn't pulling the '63?

Hello Collin
A class act trailer for a class act car. I hope you post pics of your debut next weekend
take care
Tom

Collin it looks great What are you doing for hold downs?

There is allways a debate on weather to strap the tires and let the suspention work or to strap it to the frame of the car.

Dont rely only on the winch to hold it in place

Collin:

Your trailer certainly looks great. I am in the looking stage for a trailer so would you giving some specifics about the trailer, such as:
1. What brand/model is it?
2. What is the box length?
3. What are you pulling it with?

Thanks,
Charles

Hallmark, standard.

2. What is the box length?

20 Feet

3. What are you pulling it with?

2005 Silverado Diesel 4X4 Quad cab, pickup truck 3/4 ton 2500...

Hope the helps

Thank you all for the compliments...I just think after putting so much time and effort into this car it derserves the best. Acutually my wife and I plans are to attend long distant shows, sort of see the country while meeting people. Local shows I will drive, but for those long distant shows I hope to transport it and meet many of you who are on this very board....again thanks for your kind words.

Final work completed today, installed the power cable that connect to the winch. It runs off the trucks battery. Tested it today and we are ready to pick up the Corvette Wednesday... The winch works like a champ. Its so cool, I hav a 40 foot extention remote connected to the motor that operates the Winch. So I can stand at the trailer ramp and guide the car up...Look technolog.

Is the car still at Corvette Specialties of Maryland? When do you plan on going to get it, if so?

Hey Collin, Hope you don't mind my concern but now that Larry mentioned it, what are you using to hold her in place in the trailer?

Just like your vette Collin, everything is first class quality and it looks fantastic.:upthumbs

I have the 4 hold downs on the floor of the trailer...you just can't see them....

You can purchase them at this web site:

Nice trailer Collin, I love that black and white floor. I can see the rings in the floor for the tie downs. Are you going to use the special frame hooks to attach to the vette to thse tie down rings?

Don't know about those...fill me in...

When your car was transported from the factory to the dealer, it was anchored to the truck by special hooks (Corvette uses the "R" hook) inserted into the anchoring holes in the frame. There are 4 special re-inforced oval holes in the frame of your mid-year, 2 at the front near the stabilizer bar, and two at the rear under the crossmember.

Hook "clusters" are available from towing supply stores and I see them at several automotive swap meets.

You could run your straps from the hooks to your tie down rings mounted in the trailer floor.

It is an alternative to putting a strap or hook around the half shaft.

The tie down method I prefer is tire straps attached to "E-Trac".
