First 2014 Corvette Stingray Offered at Barrett-Jackson

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Chevrolet will offer the first retail production model of the 2014 Corvette Stingray – with the Vehicle Identification Number ending in 0001 – at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale collector car auction this weekend. Proceeds will benefit the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, renowned for its automotive design program.

According to "a guy" in the Chevy booth, the car won't arrive until late Friday. He says it will be one of the Detroit Auto Show preview cars, and was shipped to the Waldorf Astoria earlier in the week to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the unveiling of the 1953. That means it will be red or grey.

It will be shown in the Chevy area at BJ when it arrives, and will be "auctioned" During the high roller cars early Saturday evening.

Any guesses on the selling price, and which Chevy collector will buy it?
