Ok, last night we took the Vette out for a shakedown, it felt so good, however i have a couple of issues i need advise on please.
First I noticed that my car is pulling to the right when i brake....a pretty good pull too.
My question is , could the rear brakes make it pull this hard?
Im going into the front calipers this weekend, as last fall i put a new caliper on the right rear and new pads on both rear calipers.
Next,I have no blower on my heater/defrost.It has always worked in the past..however, this winter i removed the A/C compressor as it is shot.I cant afford a chrome unit to replace it at this point and it didnt look very good for show , so i remopved it and the brackets that held it.I put the hoses that i didnt remove up behind the overflow jug and things look great....but now Im thinking i messed up a connected circuit or something with the blower not working.
Other than that it was a great ride around the neighborhood...
Any input is greatly appreaciated.

Chas..... I doubt the A/C compressor has anything to do with your blower circuitry. A quick check at the schematic in your assembly manual should help. Could be something as simple as a fuse or a contact on the rotary wheel switch. Pesky suckers. Do you store at home or in a storage locale? Could have gotten a critter in there and done some nibbling too.

Brakes. Possible a stuck caliper on the left side. I'd pull the caliper pistons and clean and replace with new seals. Also possible a clog in your metering valve block for that side. Is it front or rear hanging? Clean them both.

Good luck. I have a noisy U-joint and can't locate which one. Looking at replacing ALL of them. Oh boy (sic).

Chas,

Check for brake fluid leaks. If it gets on the pads, she'll pull badly.

Great advise...Thanks guys.
Nut i store at home but it had critters before under the center console...when i bought it and tore out the interior, i found a pile of carpet pad from under the seat and it was a neat nest up against the E-brake assy.
Then as i was working under it one day, i found the little mouse cadaver in the frame...what a view he had!
So its going to come out and have a inspection.

I did the rear brakes last year chasing a clunking sound i thought was a stuck caliper...maybe i was in the wrong end. Im pulling the fronts apart later today and i will post my findings later.

again , thanks for the input

lines

Chas- last year my 81 did the same PULL thing with the brakes. Found it was the rubber flex brake fluid line to the right front side. The rubber line had dissintergrated inside itself, rubber flakes and gunk came out when I took it down.
If your 4 rubber lines are original, I recommend you change all of them. New ones can be bought for under $50 for the set. This would be a good time to flush the entire system too.

I had the same problem with mine and after further inspection I noticed the right front caliper was leaking badly and made the car pull hard to the right every time I stepped on the brake.

When you tucked away the A/C lines you may have knocked off the purple power wire to the blower motor
