Can anyone tell me what the "(DR)" means on the timing data sticker? It has columns for Auto. and Man. trans with the timing advance, but I do not know what the codes mean...may be drive? The manual side has an N which may mean neutral...you can see I am guessing. Help.

DR stands for Drive on an automatic transmission.
You should set the timing for the specified number with the automatic transmission at the specified RPM in Drive.:) :w

And make sure the parking brake is set and the wheels are chocked (unless you want to ventilate the garage wall.):W

Yup, seems like I could make my garage into a carport pronto! Thanks y'all for the info. I was struggling with the idea that you would set the timing in drive, but I guess that is the deal.

I have been on a very slow reassemble and test of an oil leak expedition (new, head gaskets, clean up of the 87K miles of grim the previous looser left on my motor, spiffy paint on the valve covers) and I can see the timing light at the end of the tunnel!

Is that the PLASTIC MAN in your avatar??;)

Randy

I don't know about plastic man but that is the "Great" Bear Bryant if Im not mistaken.

:w

Give that man a Cigar! Of course if you are an Alabama trivia nut, you would know that the AL vs TN game ends with the winner smoking cigars as the sign of victory!

I also noted that y'alls home state is MS and there is another Great Alabama Alumni staulking the side lines at Miss State.

Did anyone notice my rather funny salutation of the Jumper cable joke?

Actually I'm a transplant .... originally from GA. I seem to recall that Bear went to GA, and Vince Dooley (our "Great") graduated from AL or maybe Auburn (I know they shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentance ... almost sacrilige.) Maybe I'm thinking of other coaches but it was that way at one point.
