First trophy

My son and I have been trying to fix up my 81 since I got it in July. New seats, cleaning up old wireing, coolant leaks, brake calipers etc. etc. Still have to deal with door panels and a few small odds and ends but Im proud to say that my car finally earned a trophy at a local cruise in this weekend.
It was one of five drivers choice trophys out of 8 total including best in show, 1st and 2nd runner up, and there were almost 100 cars of all year make and models there. Many of them were true show cars. It's a small acheivement but it made me and my son proud of the work we have done every weekend over the summer and proof positive that you dont have to sink a ton of money into your car to make it nice.

Can't wait till he is 55 lbs and can ride in the car with me, to travel to further show. Right now a Car Seat just won't fit, and I have to protect that precious cargo!

I put a car seat in mine all the time.I get a lot of comments when i drive through a cruise-in with the top down and a two year old in the passenger seat.

I had a 79 Firebird with t tops and used to roll with my son in a car seat. The chicks dug it!
