Fix a Flat through C5 sensors??

Once and for all..

I need to know the answer to this question.

I am getting ready to replace my original run flat tires.

I am contemplating the GY F1 GSD3's because not only do they look great, they are excellent in both wet and dry.

My question is;
Is it possible to even feed "Fix a Flat" through the air pressure sensors on my C5. I understand that the sensor will be ruined.
I would not mind sacrificing a sensor in an emergency.

I have heard contradictory stories on this subject and would appreciate hearing from someone who knows from first hand experience.

Has anyone actually used fix a flat on their C5 wheels/sensors?

I plan to carry a "Safety Seal" kit and a plug in compressor besides and if need be I can repair the tire myself.

The tire guy at Winston tires told me that fix a flat would ruin the sensors when I told him that I was thinking about using it versus the cost of fixing a flat.

HI there,
Tony is absolutely correct.
This is the exact reason why tire pressure sensors were not equipped on Z, because the solution in the flat repair chemical would destroy the sensor.
Another tire you may want to try is the Michelin Pilot Sport Zero pressure tire.
I like the handling of this tire in the rain and the dry. It may be a better compromise for what you are looking for.

Thanks for your replies, but as I said in my previous post, I am willing to sacrifice ruining a sensor in a pinch.

I know that the sensor will be ruined.

My question is will the "Fix a Flat" even go through the sensor?

Has anyone actually used it?

The only repair kit I carry is a CELL Phone.

Fix a flat is NO GOOD it sets tires out of balance.Regaurdless of the sensors DONT USE FIX A FLAT unless you plan on replacing the tires as soon as you get to your destination
