Hi I am looking to purchase a 61 corvette. It is a complete car with a non original 283. The car is all there with no frame rot or body damage. I can purchase it for $8000.00. Is that a fare deal? Please e-mail at acshood@aol.com. Also, What are the major things I should be looking for?

Dave

BUY IT

If you decide not to send it my way.

If I had $8k right now, I would definitely go for it. Matching numbers are nice, but I really wanna hot rod a late C1. :D

Buy it, if you don't let me have a chance at it. PLEASE.

Best regards,
Gerry

If as described, go buy it now. Run don't walk!!!!

Hate to be the cautious on here but what does the seller mean by "complete"? I have no experience with C1s but have heard the trim pieces and interior parts can add up REAL fast. I dunno though --- $8k may be good even iff all that stuff is missing!

Been looking for one of these for a while and a body alone is going for those dollars. As long as the vins match the registration I think 8 grand is a deal

You are right Brian that stuff is expensive..... but
for what its worth Brian I just paid $13,000 for one that doesn't sound like is as good as the one you are considering...Hell, they only made 10,939 of them...How is too much.....I imagine a lot of folks think I paid too much and I probably did. To tell you the truth though...I haven't ever seen one up to now for $13,000....so I bought it!

Sure, Bubba had a real good time with this one before I got it , and I doubt that another $10,000 will put it where I want it. But what they heck ...you only go around once and most folks can only dream of owning one in any driveable condition!! Can you think of "anything" that personifies "cool" like a vintage Corvette ??.......Does "priceless" fit here??.....hmmm

Final note ..even though I thought I was paying more than mine was worth, I can't beat folks off it and I guarantee if I put a price on it, it would be gone tomorrow.

My 2cents...Stan

..... take a deep seat and get a far away look in your eye.
