I have a glass targa top and the aluminum?? edging that goes around the front and sides is falling off. Its still secured on the sides, but has come loose along the front. Is there a way to fix this myself or is it off to the auto glass shop?

How falling off? I mean can you take it all the way off without messing anything up ie. the strip or the glass? If you can get it off and clean it up both the glass and the inside of the strip I would bet that a thin bead of 5200 would hold it back. You would need a large ratchet strap or a belt of some sort. Apply the strip then hold it in place with the strap. 5200 is Marine Fiberglass Adhesive and takes about 24 hours to cure. I fixed my Fiberglass roof much the same way. It was coming loose from the halo frame. Nary a leak and its good as new now.

My problem is that it is very securely attached on the sides. So I need a way to get it off before I can reseat it.

Dead blow hammer with a peice of scrap wood. Tap the strip untill it pops off. Be carefull not to scratch your pait or the lexan
