Fog lamp burnout

I have a 99 Coupe, when I purchased it the passenger side fog lamp was burnt out, the driver side was fine. I replaced both at the same time about three months ago and now the passenger side is out again.
Do I have a short somewhere? Anyone else have this problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have moisture inside the lenses?

I've had the same issue with my parking lights and the other day my mechanic told me that there's moisture/condensation inside the lenses indicating that water is getting in.

Replacement of both is on my list of things to do.

Like Jane Ann alluded, I bet you have a condensation issue. The socket has probably arced over. The only reliable fix is to replace both sockets and then apply a generous gob of dialectric grease to the tip of each bulb before insertion. Harley-Davidson started shipping their bikes from the factory this way several years ago, and I've never heard of a single socketed lamp problem since (and bikes are subject to more condensation than your vette ever will).

GL!

Why Replace, when you can Repair!!;shrug;shrugTakes about 10 minutes longer to repair them then to replace and is about $100. Less $$!!But it's probly the socket gaskets have stuck to the lamp and then fell off before the bulb and socket were put back in!!Happens allot,it's hard to see in there!!(Auto Zone and Advance have them around here in the "HELP" section!!) But if it is the Lamp,it's relatively easy to take out and seal around the edge of the lens and won't be seen after reinstalled!!:thumb:thumb:thumb
