For Sale In Seattle, WA: 1961 Corvette Roadster
REDUCED PRICE! WAS $58,500, NOW $54,999.
Own a rare piece of automotive history. For sale is a 1961 Corvette Roadster which is the first year of the attractive “duck tail” rear end, and the last year that the two-tone paint could be ordered from the factory. Also, dual carburetor engines were available for the last time in 1961, and it was the last year for the 283 ci engine. Courtesy lights, windshield washers, sun shades, parking brake warning light, and temperature-controlled radiator fan all became standard in 1961. Additional standard equipment includes a tachometer, seat belts, dual exhaust system, carpeting, electric clock, driver’s side outside review mirror, lockable rear-seat storage area, and an aluminum radiator. This well-preserved car is in excellent condition both inside and out, runs and drives exceptionally well, and has no driveability issues.
Only 10,939 Corvettes were built in 1961, and this 75,338-mile car was the 10,662 one produced this year, and shows in original condition. This beautiful roadster is finished in the beautiful RPO 440 two-tone Honduras Maroon with White Cove, of which only 647 came from the factory with this color combination. The black interior features new seat foam and vinyl covers. The current powerplant fitted in the car is an upgraded period-correct 327ci, while the intake and dual 4-barrel Carter WCFB carbs remain correct. It is equipped Borg Warner T-10 4-speed transmission, independent front suspension, hypoid semi-floating live rear axle, and 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Production options include the RPO 867 base convertible; RPO 101 heater; RPO 102 AM Radio, Signal Seeking (WONDERBAR); RPO 276 15x5 (5) Wheels; RPO 290 Whitewall Tires; RPO 419 Auxiliary Hardtop; RPO 468 283ci, 270hp (2x4 Carburetors; and RPO 685 4-speed Manual Transmission. Currently, a Sony FM/AM XR-2900 Cassette Car Stereo is in the car, however, the original WONDERBAR radio is included in the sale. The car rolls on brand new 6.70R15 white wall Auburn Deluxe Radial tires from Diamondback featuring the “pie crust” edge, square tread shoulder, and period-correct tread pattern.
This iconic car has been thoughtfully maintained so that it would be preserved for many years to come, and offers someone the opportunity to own a classic collector car. The car is in the Seattle area, and has a clean Title, and the asking price is $54,999.
Let me know if you have any questions.
