Well since my previous gear thread, I have chosen a new course of action. I need to get headers and exhaust done this year. My question is, what should I do after the TPIS long tubes. Should I have custom pipes bent and have an x pipe installed? Or should I use the Y pipe they send, and then use the rear y pipe out to mufflers?

Thanks,
Craig

The first option is the best one. Finding a shop that will do it for you, however could be daunting. If you want the cats deleted, you're likely to have to drive the car in with open headers and no exhaust on it for somebody to consider it. Otherwise, plan on high flow cats to be part of your system (makes the smog nazis happy). In either event, plan on some exhaust fabrication.

If I couldn't find a shop to do it, would I be loosing alot installing the 3" Y pipe into 1 pipe, and then back out the rear Y pipe and good exhaust? What are some good flowing and sounding exhaust to put on a car with headers?

the cheapest and easiest way would be to buy a used LT1 exhaust and have a shop fab the rest in to work with your headers.... ala true duals.

2 to 1 to 2 is what i run for now. i seriously doubt the difference in HP is more than 10 rwhp. either way you go it's gonna sound good.
