I have tried just about every aluminum polish out their.

Luster lace, Mothers liquid and in the tin, Blue Magic, Eagle One Never Dull and a few more that dont come to mind right now.

Until now I havent really found one that worked with out spending all day on the rims. They all seem just about the same. I just used the 3M Aluminum Polish, its in a black tin with yellow writing. WOoo !! It worked outstndingly well , the oxidation came I right off. I used two rags per rim, but it didnt take very long or much elbo grease. Just keep turning to a clean spot on the rag.
Needless to say Im very pleased, I would recomened this to anyone here with alumininum rims. None of the others worked even close to as well.

But I do also have a follow up question on they same subjuect, hss anyone tried the Zoop seal after cleaning the rims ?? Some of the car shows gave it a very good review. I want to try it, but havent know anyone to actually use it. The links below for Zoop.

Sweet, thanks for sharing, I need to do my 82's aluminum wheels and was reading up trying to find some good products. Been so long since I had a car actually worth washing (other than in the rain) I've lost track.

How about a good wax? Any thoughts?

Also, any way to being back the rear bumper/spoiler area, mine is dark claret and the backend is more noticably faded compared to the rest of the car. I'll probably get it painted next spring but if there's anything I can do to spruce it up I'd like to try.

When it gets chalky looking , like a white film over its due to oxidation. The only sucess I have seen in really removing it is getting it buffed with a high speed buffer. That is if you have enought paint left on it too do so.

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to give it a try. The other solution is www.fixrim.com . They do Great work, includes clearcoat but at $109/rim...

Thank you for this link, cmegga!! This is exactly what I am looking for. A good shining agent for my aluminum wheels. I'm glad you pointed this out. I'm going to purchase my care and detailing products this weekend and this is going on my list, me thinks. :)

I was told by the vette pro's that the best thing for your wheels, is to have the wheels done professional and clearcoated. I know it's $$$, over $400 but it will close the perfect. I'm stll going to look for the 3M stuff, but I think it go to the pro's in the long run...

I see what you mean, but I think I'm going to have a go at her first. ;)
