Frankenstein 81 is up and running.

Well after all the issues with carb, smog equipment etc, my 81 is now running!

Ok so I had to put on a non comp carb as mine is in dire need of a rebuild ( will do that once parts have arrived ) and a non ECM controlled dizzy but at least she is running hard and strong!

So good to hear that V8 running the way she is meant to.
Few little tweaks required along with an oil change due to all the gas that probably was dumped in to the engine but we are good to go.
Carb rebuild here we come!

Glad you got it running. That carb definitely needs to be cleaned. Are you going to put the carb and dizzy back in and see if you can get the ECM to work again?

For sure! No reason to think ECM isnt working.
Have ordered the tools required, now need to source a decent rebuild kit.....any preferences? Also you did mention you may have a spare cup that sits under the MCS that mine is missing, any luck finding it? Happy to pay!

Thanks Tom, Appreciate the offer. I have the shop manual and the AIM so am good to go.

On a side note, she passed her first annual inspection and so is now legally on the road!
Few minor advisories to sort but very happy.
