Front end alignment?

My C5 needs a front end alignment, but I expect to be putting 4 new tires on in about 2 months / 3000 miles. I assume it would be best to wait for the new tire install and alignment rather than try to get a few extra miles /maybe another 7 or 8 months out of the front rubber by doing the alignment now. Any comments? Thanks!

Hi there,
Any alignment will assist in the keeping of tires for a longer wear cycle.
Balancing once a year is also very important.
If you are going to change tires soon, I would wait. However, this will all depend on how much you have worn out the tires.
Are they completely bald, or are they just wearing at the inside edge?????
Are you experiencing chopping????

I wouldn't wait. If you know you need an alignment now, whats the sense of waiting two months? Not only will you prevent additional wear on your present tires, but you'll reduce any undue forces on other components. The cost of the alignment won't be any less in two months and you're ride will handle the way it's supposed to.;)

Both front tires are wearing on the inside, and both rears are worn in the middle which I would assume were from over inflation but cold tire pressure is 29 lbs. What exactly is chopping? My idea of waiting would be to just purchase 4 new tires at the same time rather than put on new fronts 7 months later. Thanks for the replies!
