I was out driving around the other night and much to my surprise, I saw a C5. It was only 9 degrees, and while there wasn't any snow on the roads, there was plenty of salt. It almost inspired me to take mine out of hibernation, but I think I'll hold off until after a few good rain storms to clean the roads off.

Hopefully only 2 more months before "Corvette season" officially opens. :D

It's 10 degrees right now and I will have my c-5 on the road by noon. Roads are clear and dry but any salt underneath will be taken off by a new laser car wash later in the week. I really enjoy hearing my new Corsa Pace Car system

I was thinking of taking mine out- but the salt just is not worth it, also the sand Kills the paint- stick to my 95 Monte Z34 still goes pretty good! bUt I cant wait to take her out soon!!

Taking mine down the Jersey Shore this weekend! Don't care how cold it is as long as there is no snow. Whats the worry about salt? It washes off and the body dosen't rust. All I am worried about would be sliding in snow and someone else into me

I can finally report that out here in Colorado, we appear to have turned a corner in the season. Monday, we finally got into the mid-50s for temps, for the first time in 2007. Yesterday, it was even into the 60s. Bit of a cold front last night, so we won't break the low 50s today, but it's nice to finally have a few days to string together to take the Vette out of the garage.

Maybe the Groundhog got it right this year when he didn't see his shadow.

Location, location, location! I know, there's always one of us southern boys that has to jump in and say something about how warm it is down here. I really feel for you guys that have to put your car up for the winter. It's cold here but sunny. The past 2 weekends have been very nice for vette drives, sorry. Those of us in the sunny south will promise to do our best to drive more than our fair share to make up for what you guys can't do until the spring thaw comes. :D

Do C5's Go In the Snow?

Be careful - this could happen to you.

The Body Won't But..........

Everything else will rust, brake lines, clamps, the frame, window mouldings. It's like talcum powder here, you watch the cloud kicked up by the cars in front of you.:nono

I saw a C5 running around on the snow/salt covered roads here in Fort Wayne yesterday. I'm sure they can take it with no problem, but I really don't want salt dust getting into every nook and cranny...

It was 69 here on Monday - I wanted to put the top down! WOO HOO, I'd almost get excited - but they are predicting up to 5 ft. of snow in the mountains over the weekend.

I lucked out BIG TIME so far this winter, there have only been 2 days I haven't driven Big Red to work, and both times it was because of ice in combination with all the idiots who've never driven on ice. :ohnoes

C5's in the Snow

And you definitely don't want to caught in a situation like this.

Remo, what kind of knuckleheads would decide to have a Corvette rally over Donner Pass in October?!?!?! (cough Californians cough) :chuckle

Always Select the Right Equipment.

This is what I recommend for those late fall attempts over Donner Pass.

Its been around -5 to -10F around here these days.

Cold doesnt bother me nearly as much as the salt that we dump all over the streets. Until the trucks sweep it away along with the sand and whatever else is in there, i wont take out the vette.
