fuel gauge?

I just changed my fuel pump,now fuel gauge doesnt want to work.Ive rewired the pump ,checked the float .then i replace pump .Nothing gauge still doesnt wanna work ,any ideas?

Is the float moving up and down free,and not catching on the hose clamp you installed on the hose for the pump?
Check the ground wires.
Check to see if you broke the clips that hold the half moon cover on the float.
You don't want to screw up that sending unit .You won't believe the coast of that little thing.
