Ok heres another problem.. My fuel guage keeps going to empty even though the tank is full. When I open the key the guage goes to full then back to empty like it is suppose to. Some times after I drive for some time it will go back to normal. This only happens when I fill the tank to the top. Any suggestions..

There have been alot of posts about this here is what I remember:

1) The sending units are sensitive to gas with a high sulfer content and will malfunction, only use high grade gas from new or well maintained brand name gas stations. (dont buy the cheapo stuff from a mom n pop station)

2) The sending units just plain suck, and are prone to failure.

3) NEVER top off your tank, for some reason this causes a problem. Fill her up till the pump clicks off and then stop. Do not try to squeeze another pint or 2 in to get to an even $$ amount.

4) ALWAYS turn the gas cap all the way tight, until it clicks many times. A loose or not fully tightened cap can cause irradic readings on the gauge.

Hope this helps, I am sure others may have some "words of wisdom" for you.
