I haven't done this, but another way to check balance might be to watch the IAC number with a scan tool on a running engine as you disconnect and reconnect each injector. If one was not contributing as much as the others, the IAC motor position wouldn't change as much to maintain idle speed. If you see IAC doesn't change as much when one is disconnected, then that cylinder is weak (could be bad spark in there as well)
Injectors also have wierd intermittent failure modes. If you think they're bad, just replace the lot and save yourself the hassle.
