Fuel Level Gage on 92

After filling with some super fuel, no Ethanol ! , I thought that I was getting super great milage. After 200 miles and the gage still on full, it dawned on me that it wasn't the good grade fuel. I had the fuel pump replaced last fall, and it didn't seem that difficult to get at. Is the float replacement a home project?
