hello, there is a S shape fuel line by the pump on my 73 vette with a 350 i put a new rubber one on a year ago and now its leaking, does anyone one make a steel S line ,thanks for your thoughts

s shaped hose

I don't know about a 73 vette but my 79 had a leaking s hose. That is the supply from the tank. You should replace it with the same shaped hose or else it will possibly kink and leak. You need the flex from the rubber hose to allow for the motion of the motor when you get on it and it rolls on the motor mounts. Just my two cents.:)

The correct 3/8" reinforced fuel hose for that application is molded in the necessary "S" shape so it won't kink or leak; did you use the molded hose?

Inline Tube, Shelby Twp. Michigan (800)385-9452 They can make ANY steel line you need, metric or SAE and they do great work. Or go to Inlinetube.com

Well, there's a disaster in the making.............

I can see the headlines now 'Car fire destroys antique, owner baffled as to cause'. Followed by 'Insurance denies payment, owner still baffled'.

Don't do it.

First see why it's leaking, could be as simple as a loose/stripped clamp. The hose only needs replaced if it is cut, cracked or badly weather checked. Any chance you bought a NOS hose that has been on the shelf for 20 years? Try a fresh repo form one of the vendors. Old NOS parts have their place but not on a driver.

Check out the inlinetube.com website. They can make any type of fuel line. If it isn't in their catalog just send the old one and they will copy it. If it is rubber with steel ends they can reproduce it and they do great work.

the leak is at the bend on the top looks like lots of little cracks

Just replace it with a new one - Paragon and all of the usual vendors have that molded "S" hose. It isn't under pressure - only vacuum.
