Question: fuel miles C3

I have a 73 L82 and want to get better miles per gallon. What is the best carb for this with least amount of changes and performance is not my thing. Brand and size?. It has the Q-jet from factory right now and runs good but looking for more miles per gallon. Thanks in advance.

The best possible carb is what you've got right now. If you're not averaging 18mpg or so on the highway, something is wrong.

That's correct. The stock Q-Jet is the best carb you can use for mileage. It's also the best carb for bottom-end torque, and it will perform as well as any other aftermarket carb on the top end if set up right. For best mileage, tune the carb correctly, but more importantly, get your timing curve set right.
