fuel pump 1993 LT1

Hi. How do i check that the fuel pump is working. Clutching straws as the car wont start, cranks but no fire and no codes.

I probably would have an assistant turn the key on while I listen at the fuel tank for the buzzing of the pump

Make sense Do i need to take down the panel under the dash to get to the relay? Reason for asking is that the car is parket a very narrow place and i cant move it to get better room on the passenger side.
