fuel pump went out, bummer huh?

sherry,its really not that bad to do,remove your 2 fuel lines and the 2 3/8 bolts holding it in place.The bolt inthe front of the block like you said install a long 3/8 bolt in that hole and hold the rod up to highest point and tighten bolt down just so it hold rod up(not too tight or youll bend rod).Insert pump back in with new gasket(after cleaning old one of course)then remove bolt from front of block to let rod drop down.Remember to put short 3/8 bolt back in front of block or youll get an oil leak from there.
 
What a mess, I've had to do it twice on the side of the road. its easyer if you remove the wheel and use a socket extension to remove the two bolts that hold it on. and remeber no smoking.
 
DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY !

and use a little grease on the pin when you re-install the new one. good luck.chas
