When I fuel up and the pump kicks off , I get a lot of leakage under the car , I would guess at least a quart of Gas . Any ideas ?

Just For 2,
I'm assuming that this problem is happening on your 2000, not your '94. On my '90, last summer, I had to replace the fuel filler neck (this is essentially a rubber area that holds the tube that guides the fuel down to the tank. In my '90, it had cracked, apparently from age and the fact that the car was hardly ever driven (and therefore, regularly fueled.) The dryness of my climate contributed to some of that, too.

I had no choice but to go to the dealer and have them replace it.

You might try opening your fuel filler door and with your fingers, gently explore the area around the tank port to see if you can observe any obvious cracks. Try it and let us know if you find anything.

hey Pat; thanks. It is on the 2000 . I only filled it part way the last time i fueled up , no leak but could smell the fuel. I took the protector plate off and assume gas spills into the plate and sloushes around when i'm driving. this could cause a fire i'm sure . Guess i'll pull the fender well and see whats there then drop the pan and tank.
