Well here in SE P.A the cost of 93 octane has just passed the $4.70 per gallon mark and the biggest increase has yet to come. So it costs 89.00 to fill the Vette with premiun fuel. I was wondering with all the press going around about new fuels coming, if GM would at sometime soon introduce a conversion kit to allow the LS-1 to run on E85 or flex fuel. I don't even know if this is even possible or not, but if fuel is headed to $5, or 6 or 7 dollars a gallon then we need to consider something for the future? Any thought?

I'll be interested to see some of the responses about an E-85 conversion, but hopefully we see the gas prices drop at the end of the summer like it usually does.

I've never seen a station that has E-85 for sale. Besides I've heard that it cost more and your mileage is less. Doesn't sound like a real answer to me.

Maybe not, But with the predictions I am seeing I have to wonder what the fuel situation is going to be a year or so from now.

Regular unleaded here in northwest indiana is now at 4.14 and e-85 is been @2.99 for the last 2 1/2 months. I work at a dealership and my demo is an e-85. If I fuel with reg unleaded and add e-85 at a 1/2 tank, then reg unleaded again at 1/2....just rotate the fuels I dont lose the fuel economy. If I run just the e-85 I lose about 4mpg. FYI......

Also have a tech that puts 2ozs os acetone for every 10 gals. of regular unleaded in his Grand Cherokee Hemi and SWEARS he has a 4mpg increase......check this link out
