hey guys i got to reading some tonight and it lead into a lot of research and now i am more confused then ever!!!my 94 vette has the G44 and G92 RPO codes.. G44 means 3.07 ive heard that the G92 means 3.15 and 3.07 so what gear ratio do i have???:ohnoes my guess is its is G44 3.07 and that was the perf gear ratio for those cars so they had to stamp that rpo on it to simply because it had that option although it meant the same thing.

Check this link out and read it...then you will see why i am so confused

The reason you are confused is because that post came from the C5 forum, 3.15 was never an available ratio on a C4.

so they had to stamp that rpo on it to simply because it had that option although it meant the same thing.

In some GM lines there may be more than one "performance " ratio so it doesn't mean the same thing. The RPO G92 means a car was fitted with a "performance ratio" that was available for that year.The other G?? code identifies what the ratio actually is.

In the case of C4 auto's ;
the only perf ratio ever available was the 3.07 which is RPO G44
in place of the std 2.59 ratio which was RPO GM1
or 2.73 for verts RPO GU2
However ,for instance if you had a '87 manual , then the RPO label would still show G44 ( 3.07 ) but no G92 because 3.07 was the std ratio
