Gas cap door

Does any body know what the correct cap door is last weekend there was another 66 coupe and the flags on the door were different than my the checker part on my is on the top left is white and then black the other one was the black then white I know my is the original and the other fellow said his is the one that came with the car did they have two
Different types one early one and a later one in the model year

the picture showing the 66 cap is what we have but the checker flag is different

From my research when I replaced the gas cap door, there are two different gas cap doors. The checkered flag started with a different color in the upper left hand corner. I can not find my research work but I do remember the flags being different.

When I get time I will try to get the part # off the door
and see if it matches the time line of the build date

Sorry I knew this information but actually forgot it. I almost think it had to do with dates or suppliers John z will know or 66jlcoupe or chuck or midyear one of those guys will know this.If you have an old paragon reproduction catolouge they had some type of a note about it thats how I learned about there being a difference
