gasoline odor

I just filled my tank for the first time and I now have a fairly strong gas odor in the car. I did not over fill, just let it go till the nozzle clicked off automatically. I cannot find any leaks on the garage floor. I checked the gas cap and it seems to be closed properly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is my first Vette, a 2000 coupe. ANy suggestions would be appreciated.
