gear ratios

G81 positraction was not limited to a specific ratio. You could get the car up on stands and count the driveshaft vs. wheel rotations to determine the ratio.

It may or may not have the original diff, or the gears may have been swapped in the past in the original housing, but the date and ratio code for the diff is stamped on the bottom surface of the housing between the front of the spring mounting plate and the rear of the camber strut bracket; usually needs a good cleaning or wire-brushing so you can see the numbers.

thanks for your idea, I ll give that a try.
 
Thanks for the tip, your idea sounds easier than spinning the driveshaft and wheels. Sounds like I have a project for myself this weekend for either method. The car does seem to be geared high, expecially in first gear.
