My step Father recently bought a 95 with a glass top. The top is in good condition, but hazy. He ask me for advice on products or techniques to remove the haze but so far I've only owned sharks and don't know too much about C4s. Thought that maybe someone here could help.

Thanks

I moved this to C&D in hopes someone who spends their time preparing cars will be able to help solve your dilemma. :CAC

I resurfaced my roof with a Micromesh acrylic polishing kit. I went through all of the steps that came with the kit and was amazed by the difference. I did not get to remove all of the crazing though. It left the outside with a mirror finish but when light shines on it, it looks like there are a few cracks reflecting light even thought the top isnt cracked.

Good luck,
Shane

Shane, were you happy with the results? My top also has the "crazing" thing going on. The outside of it doesnt shine, actually looks pretty dull. I've been searching for a new top for it(with no luck) :cry . I'm hoping to find one at Carlisle in August,so if this stuff worked well for you maybe I'll give it a try, and hopefully it will hold me over till I can find a new on. :w What size kit did you use? Thanks,
Don

I put a direct link to the site where I bought my kit from. It has many different grades of abrasive and it comes with a polish and anti static coating. Before I refinished it with this kit it looked as you say "dull" there were thousands of visible surface scratches that did not go very deep. All of these came off and now it has a mirror finish althought the crazing did not go away I barely notice it because I had to deal with a window that I nearly couldn't see through. The cost ($32.00) is nothing compared to spending an extra $1500 on a complete new window and I would recommend trying to refinish it first. Plan on spending some time with it. Sand it until your arms start hurting and then the next day go down to a finer grade. This is what is included in the kit.

Kit No. 3KNC781 Contents:

  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 1500 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 1800 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 2400 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 3200 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 3600 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 4000 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 6000 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 8000 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 6" Sheet of 12000 Micro-Mesh
  • 1-3" x 3" Foam Sanding Block
  • 1-2 oz. bottle of Micro-Gloss
  • 2-Cotton Flannel Cloths
  • 1-8 oz bottle of Anti-Static Cream
  • 1-2 oz. Bottle Detergent
  • 1-3" x 3" Cardboard
  • 1-Instructions
Cost is $32.00
Hope this helps you,
Shane
