Hi Guys, picked up a new set of Side Exhaust Covers and rocker moldings and strips. The rockers moldings and strips were in factory GM packages but the side exhaust covers were not?

My question is how can I tell they are GM and not repos?

On the back of the covers the heat shields are glued with gray glue.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Pete

Ecklers has the original tooling and molds from GM for the exhaust covers, and they have been repro'ed by them for a year or so.

I bought an NOS pair of GM side exhaust covers and they indeed are in two GM boxes, with the part number glued on the end of the box. My guess is that yours are the repro from Ecklers, although they are identical. :beer

Are you replacing a set or installing a new set?

If your replacing a set the used ones should sell real quick.

What is the going price for new side exchaust kits now

Did you find any blems in the paint up by the front bends
I purchased a set at carlilse this year and weprobabley opened up 5 sets before we found a perfect left and right side

IH2, did you buy those Sidepipe cover protectors I told you about? $50 bucks a pair from LICS. The anodizing on the covers will not stand up against any gravel hits, so you better get em. PJ :)

I purchased it the day you gave me the lead on it .I think it was a friday. And then it seemed like the next day the parts arrived.
I am embarresed to say they are still not on the car I can not bend the tabs enought to slip them on. Luckely (and un luckely)
for me I have only driven the car around the block since I had put my new side pipe covers on.Thanks for the lead on the protectors It only mackes sence to have them
