Help! GM part#88999228 Body Control Module / CCM

Hey,

I have been searching high and low for a replacement CCM/BCM for my 90 Vette.. and keep coming up empty handed. I have tried GM, autopartspeople.com, corvettesalvage.com... but no one seems to have them! Any ideas or anyone here have one for sale?

HI there,
This is a constant problem, as far as turn around time.
GM gave me about 4 months for a CCM for a 1991.
What I have been doing is shipping the CCM DIRECTLY to A1Cardone and they rebuild it.
Make sure to give them symptoms so that they can correctly test the entire system.
They do the rebuilds for ACDelco.

Listen to what c4c5specialist says on this. My guess is there are no more new CCMs only reman units. Doing direct to Cardone is the way to go.

This problem with a lack of replacement electronics for C4s and C5s is going to never get better, unfortunately.

GM has no mandate to support older Corvettes--other than a few exhaust emissions related items--and no business case to support anything much older than 5 model years or so or cars prior to the most recent platform change over. Past that, parts support seems like an annoyance for the General. Thankfully, to a certain extent, there's a market for reman VTX but, I suspect, it's gonna get expensive as time goes on.

Even then, there may be a few parts which cannot be successfully remanufactured and that the aftermarket cannot afford to reproduce, for example: the C4 ABS lateral acceleration sensors.
