Bulliten 97040 goes on to say, "DEALERS ARE TO SERVICE ALL VEHICLES SUBJECT TO THIS CAMPAIGN AT NO CHARGE TO CUSTOMERS, REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE, AGE OF VEHICLE, OR OWNERSHIP, FROM THIS TIME FORWARD."

My question is this.
Should I take my car in for this PCM flash (even if I have not been having the "DTC p1518), and if I do, will this update all the latest and greatest PCM updates.

HI there,
PCM updates are CRITICAL TO HOW THE CAR RUNS.
Just have it done.
As for your recall, you would have gotten a notice in the mail if it applies to your vehicle.

OK thanks.
I owe you another one. Must be up to a case by now.

:)

That campaign has already been closed on the VIN you supplied. Do you remember taking it to the dealer some time ago or did you buy the car used?

Yea its closed i already checked with my dealer. There is howver a seatbelt recall i would definetly get that one done as my belts became twisted. They did the recall and everythings good!

I did the seatbelt recall in late 2000, they probably did the VIN update then.
