I am about ready to paint my 64 convertible. I was wondering if anybody has a suggestion for a good HVLP paint gun. I don't want to have to give a body part in order to afford it. I just want a reasonably priced gun that is good quality.

Thanks:v

I painted my C3 last year. If you are a bit experienced and want a nice professional job, buy an IWATA LPH400LV, comes with a very nice clear coat cap and then just buy the orange cap for base coat, but you can use the silver cap for base as well, but it's noted for laying down clear coat real nice. Both of my caps are 1.4 and it sprays real nice. They may have a newer model out already for the waterborne compliant stuff, but this gun isn't that old. If you plan on spraying silver, high solid, flake, perl etc... buy the purple cap.

Are there others that will do the job? Yep, plenty, but the IWATA does a very nice job even if you are a novice. IMO, it will out spray the SATA 3000 digital which is a very high end gun as well. Here's good site/forum to check out about the IWATA guns. ASET Message Board :: Index

The gun runs around $475 now, I paid almost $600 when I bought mine. Good luck on your choice and repaint.
