I got he same one for the just about the same price. I love it! It is so great having it, for working on the daily drivers as well. And because the Vette has such a low roofline, it goes all the way up as far as the lift goes and still clears my eight-foot garage ceiling. Had to build "ramps" of two 2 X 12s bolted together in order for the Vette to clear it while driving over it, though.

when I get my wheels and the frame is loaded I may have to do something like that too.....what you did was what I was planning to do if need be.....my body just doesn't ache like it did before that lift....I couldhardly move after a full day of crawling around the floor working and fussing on that frame....I said enough......

Herb,

What's the brand and model name? The price sure seems right.
Bend-Pak, I had read someplace about someone getting it for $1400 and so I went on google and kept looking until I found it......they take your credit card and 10 days later it showed up.

The pallet was really beat, but everything was nicely strapped to the lift. All I had to do was get it on my trailer (had it delivered to work and we used the tow motor to put it on). Lift is about 40 inches wide and easily fit on my utility trailer. About 5 or 6 feet long....something like that.

I took my tractor and pulled it down the trailer gate and then could use the lift trolley to move it where I wanted it. Only had to move it, attached the motor/pump to the trolley and hook up the hose plug it in and away you go. don't forget to put the lift arms on.

Herb,

If anyone knows how you feel, now that you have access to a lift in your very own garage, it's me.

Although my new lift is a full rise, the low ceiling in my garage forces me to do all the under car work, sitting comfortably in my roll around chair. Talk about doing hard labor. ;LOL

P.S. I also love the decal treatment you did on your lift, it looks very professional. :D

Got the Bend-Pack lift also and the roll around chair. Great way to go when the post lifts just won't work. I cut the concrete floor for a 4 inch pit and set the lift down. I also had the issue with 2 X 12 ramps. Lowering the lift solved the problem. One days work to cut it out, pour new concrete and swap out the side exiting fluid line with a swivel fitting. Enjoy!

I think it makes the lift go up and down faster, don't you think so?

Steve, funny you mention the pit idea, my neighbor (an engineer ) offered to come over with the necessary equipment, and not only lower the top of the lift level with the floor, but also pour new concrete, and install two drains on each side. I have accepted his offer, and once it is done, I intend to paint the top visible part of the lift, the same gray as the garage floor. By doing this type of installation, the four approach ramps are no longer needed.

As for purchasing this type of lift , rather then the four post, I don't feel as if I have had to make any concessions. In a lot of the work we do we must have access to the wheels or suspension parts, and there is nothing more frustrating then to have a post type of lift to raise the car, only to have to use an additional jack to raise the car off the lift. Kind of counter productive if you ask me.

Like your idea with the paint job - blends in with the floor. The project went very easily - neighbor had the concrete saw. Also cut a 1" channel for the fluid hose to fit under the wheel. Like I said one day, slam bam done.

Thanks for the details Herb......I want one so bad.....just for rotating tires and doing oil changes, hate playing the jack and jack stand game.

The one problem no one has addressed is how they got their significant other to buy off on the purchase! Any good excuses out there??

Steve, got to give credit, where credit is due. The painting part was my buddy's idea and not mine.;)

I am in a rather extensive upgrade project for one of my customers ( the SWC on the lift ), but once it is out the door, we will be lowering the lift.

I am planning on running the hoses out through a sunken tube, so any relocation, or repairs that will ever be needed, can be easily done. Once all the work is complete, I will be posting a few pics of my invisible lift. ;)

I figure if you hold off on some good loving :booty for a few nights, after some back bending evenings in the garage, she might just go for it.

Héll , that sounds crazy enough :crazy to really work.
