Does anyone have one of their saw blade rims off & can look at the inside. I was surprised to see that the oem rims were imported. Oh well global economy I guess.
Yep, Corvette's got a lot of Japanese stuff in it.
Dude, you gotta watch what is reflecting in the shot when you take a picture. At first I thought "What a horrible job of plating.", when I first saw the first picture, then I noticed that the left side is wavy-looking due to the tree reflecting in the background. :L
Great looking wheels. I'd really like to do my 88's. I'm assuming you went to someone locally. Did you do any comparison between chroming yours or swapping them out for chrome ones like MAD has? I think mine would be $600 swapping out. I've got one with a little curb rash but the rest are fine. If you wouldn't mind I'd like to know what yours cost and where you went to get them done.
I'm not good composing the shot, but the chrome is flawless. I paid $360 for the "triple chrome" thru a new friend who does a lot of business with a plating company. Usually in my area it's 100 - 150 a wheel depends on 15" 16" 17" etc.
This place does chrome or will strip, but they don't polish. When I got mine my friend had a set of old Porsche alloy rims, had been chromed, going back to polish & black paint. You may remember the style - back in the 60's. The owner is restoring back to original. The rims sure looked a MESS but will no doubt be sharp when polished & painted.
