So today I was heading out to drop something off for my brother... mind you I just tuned up my carb and pulled my mufflers out of my sidepipes.. I was cruising about 35 when an 84 Vert pulls up. After the requisite nods and smiles, he revs up a bit, letting me know he wants to go. I slowly started to accel, until my rpm's were a bt closer to my powerband, then waited til he was about to lurch forward again (no cheap tactics here) then tried to make my gas pedal eat asphalt and blew by him. We were approaching a corner and a stoplight, so I only got up to 90mph or so, but I only saw a small glimmer of red in the background. Perhaps he was having injection problems?

but at the red light we exchanged the nods and the smiles, and with a wave... I depart. I love good sportmanship, so for those who drive a vette, we salute you!
