News: GT2 practice at Mid-Ohio

Looks like Corvette Racing has another hot shoe for the GT2 class in ALMS.

In Thursdays last pratice session, the GT2 class was paced by a BMW E92 M3 with a time of 1:22.044. Second fastest in class is a Porsche 911 RST at 1:22.064. Third is a Ferrari 430 Berlinetta GT at 1:22.082.

Fourth and Fifth in class are the new Corvette C6.R GT2 cars at 1:22.262 and 1:22.359. There are 10 GT2 cars entered so I think that's pretty impressive for a first time at a race.

Not bad, it'd be great to see them win the 1st GT2 race they are in!

Just getting on the podium in their first race would be an achievement but they are real close to being fastest also. Can't wait to see today practice results and qualifying results.

Too bad the race is a tape-delay on TV - would be great to see it live!

That would be nice but can't pull it off.
The wife and I are meeting with host hotel people tomorrow to talk Caravan issues. I'll be glad with I get the Caravan to Bowling Green and be done with it! :ugh

Oh, in todays Practice #2, both C6.R's got faster but a couple of other GT2 cars got faster also. Practice #2 has Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, BMW and Porsche in the top 5 with the C6.R's holding down 6th and 7th place. Both are less than a tenth of a second off being in 4th place and 4 tenths out of first.

Of course, rumors are starting that Corvette Racing is sandbagging already. :bash
