Here's few pics of my Guldstrand 5-bar installation,
Here's how much is required to remove to make the upper control arm clear the frame. I could have just made a bulge shape patch to gover up that, but I like to do things the hard way...
Hole big enough for ya?
Notice the shape how we did the cutting. It'll give us much stronger welds that way.
Time to cover up that nasty hole. Here you see how much I widened the frame above the trailing arm pockets. NOw I get all the clearance I need.
The sides requires also a lot of attention to make them right (I had to do both sides exactly the same
). Two different pieces went to each side, it's much easier to get it into right shape with seperate pieces.
Here's the frame rail in 99% final form, still needs some buffing to smooth it out. It's super strong now, it clears the 5-bar, looks ok so I say mission accomplished!
