Pretty sure this was asked before, but.. I did a search but cant find anything on the Gymkhana Monoleaf/Spring for the rear suspension.. Does anyone know how to id that part ? Maybe post a pic ? Whenever i get asked, i dont know if mine has that FE7 option or not.. Thanks!!
Later..

Thanks Guy,
but i am not that technical inclined.. Could you throw a pic at me? I just dont know where to look (obviously in da rear, but(t)..)..
And if it's not easily accessible, maybe next time we meet you could explain it to me ? Thanx
PS: Yes, i know i am being :silly but that question always comes up, and i am getting tired not to know. I heard that the FE-7 option does good on the car, supposed to make it tighter around the bends.. Mine doesnt seem to step out at all, unless i lay rubber, but i'd just really like to know..
Thanks again, Guy.. Later..

The gymkhana suspension uses a metal rear spring. It also has a rear sway bar. The base suspension uses a fiberglass rear spring and no rear sway bar.

Stefan,

Look for a big upside down one of these running from one side of the car to the other (this pic is a trailer spring). Notice several "leafs". If you have one of these with seven leafs you have the Gymkhana.

I found this I thought that it may interest you...

RPO FE7 Gymkhana suspension ($57).

Manual-shift models kept the old spring, as did those with option_al Gymkhana suspension.

The optional Gymkhana suspension (price $57) was also included with the trailer towing package.

Might give ya a clue.

FYI - All 82's were automatic (Stefan has an 82).

Stefan - You are the second person I talked to this year who's 82 fell in that block of missing numbers. Let me know if you need the pix.

Awesome, Thanks again Guy.. I'll go crawling tonight.. I'll let you know..

Allrighty: Now i KNOW ! We are looking at a Mono Spring in the back.. Ah well.. Oh and a dirty floor.. ;LOL
Guy: Thanks again for the pics (Do you notice a difference between the two ?) !
John D & 82x-FireVette: Thanks for the hints. :CAC rules !

Guy: Let me clarify: Do you notice a difference driving the two different springs in your cars ? Ie. is one 'better' than the other ?

The mono in the silver-green has a slightly smoother ride while the gymkhana in the black is more stiff. One is only "better" than the other depanding on the type of ride you want. I don't notice the difference to the point that I'd say, "Gee, whish we took the other car."

It sounds like y'all have things worked out, but I thought I would chime in anyway. I previously posted two pictures of the FE7 Gymkhana on my 78. You can find them in this thread: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=33053 I think the thread was named "Gymkhana susp - how do I tell?"

In the first pic, you can see the FE7 spring and the sway bar/stabilizer bar, whatever you call it - it's the thing the white handle of the blue cooler in the background is "pointing" to.

The second pic (on the other side of the car, the driver/left side) shows a better view of the sway bar and how it attaches.

Hope this helps somewhat.
