Well, I'm finally legal. Went to my local DMV and registered the 61. Ran into a snag with my insurance card. Seems it didn't have my middle initial like the rest of the paperwork did. Not to worry. Dialed 411, got the number, and made a quick call to Haggerty Ins. They faxed a corrected card over to the DMV within 10 minutes! Now that's customer service. The next few days are suppose to be nice so I'm gonna take advantage, I know this is the last of the top down cruising weather. That reminds me I still need to put the soft top back in the car. :)

Have a good weekend all.

It's always good to be legal.

Driving photos please. ;)

A sincere congrats on being legally on the road with plates, with nothing limiting your cruise time with the exception of your nerve. I still remember my first real ride on the highway going to get my wheel alignment done, talk about a nerve racking ride.but I made it thru and so will you.

Enjoy

Funny but in a month or two your going to forget about all that you have been thu with building the car.(kinda like getting a burn and it doesnt hurt anymore but the scar is always there)

then maybee youll be going thru your computer and look at some of your photos that bring you back to the begining of the project, and you realize WOW I cant belive I actually did all of this.

When I was building my car every thing just looked so straight foward and easey,I mean I just kept thinking all the hard stuff is done the rest is easey. A couple more good weekend and I will be done.

Now I look back at my digital photo albums of the car build and look at the dates on the photos and understand why every one thought I was nuts when I would tell them

"Ill be driving it in no time at all"

I will check back with you in a couple of months to see what your thinking.

Me personally am sorry to say, I love my car,it exceeded all of my exspectations, its a joy to drive.but I am not having as much fun with it as I did during the build.

I think I have to build something else but I am truly out of room, its not that I am afraid to drive it,I just dont have any place to go with it.

Next season I plan on attending as many NCRS Judged events as possible as an observer judge to further my knowledge of midyears, and I plan to drive the 62 to these events and display it in the sportsman class. We will see what happens

Larry,
I already have the itch to build another car, a resto mod like yours or John McGraws perhaps. We'll see. I don't know what I'm going to do with all the extra time I'm going to have this winter but I'm sure my wife will keep my schedule full. Lots of catchup around the home front. You are right about having plates and my cruising not being limited to the neighborhood anymore. :)

You really put the 62 together in short order and did a great job.

The NCRS judging thing sounds like a great idea. Good luck with that.

Hi! Gary

Congratulations on the completion of your 61! I hope you enjoy that remainder of the fall driving season. The color here in the western part of the state should be at its peak, we just had our first killer frost.

I also have Hagerty for my collector insurance and they have been great to work with. I hope I never have to work with them on a large claim.

Good luck on the first major outing!

Ray
