Which one?

I'm looking around for a harness bar and 5-point belt system for my 92. I've seen Arizona Speed and Marine and Exotic Muscles bars and I've looked at pictures of the R-D Racing's Cross Bar.

Which one should I buy and why?

I've got the RD Racing CrossBar in my 86. I originally bought it for the camera mount that it also supplies, but later added the 5-point harness they also sell. My one issue with the bar is that there are no hold-downs for the shoulder straps and they slide around. Not really while under tension (ie, being worn) but when you're not using them they tend to move around the bar. It's minor, but I've seen other brands with small welded loops to prevent this.

The camera mount, btw, is superb - the right angle, the right height, and everything is very steady.

The whole bar goes in very easily with no permanent modifications required except for cutting some carpet that's under a bracket anyway. I think I installed it in under an hour. RD Racing also supplies replacement bolts for the shoulder belt harness if you buy the bar, and full replacement hardware for all belt mountings if you buy their 5-point kits.

I have an R-D Racing harness bar in my 87 and it's a tremendous setup. Easy install and the bar can be removed in a couple of minutes simply by removing two bolts.

I ordered the bar, G-Force 3" belts, belt install kit and fire extinguisher/front submaringe belt bracket. Everything is 1st class workmanship and fits with no problems.

I don't find the lack of hold-down pieces for the shoulder straps any problem at all. Once I get them on, they don't move and when not in use, I just slid them together behihd the seat back and use a binder clip to keep them secure.

Now I can't wait till my Camber Brace gets here!!!

I had the R-D Racing one until I got their S/T Frame Support (aka roll bar). It was great!! Belts didn't move and easy to install and great quality and customer service!!

Well, I'm leaning hard toward the R-D Racing bar. I've been in touch with them and I like what I'm hearing - from them and you guys. Thanks.

Okay, it's all over. I talked with Dave at R-D and placed the order.

Thanks guys.
